Inspiration: I have always loved Gustav Klimt mostly the colors and the swirls but also the romance, texture and strange angles. This piece was inspired by Hygeia and expresses of my love for the KLIMT Style swirls.

Meaning: This piece has a lot of coming of age angst, as well as feminist questions of fertility and societal roles. The blue pages are from my actual journals from High School, the long red hair was very self-portrait inspired, the text in the background was of many different languages meant to represent the conflicting messages that teens are given about sexuality.

Creation: Original collage made from text, found images and hand made papers framed in an old window frame. This piece is 32” H x 28” W including window frame, the frame is painted silver and the collage papers are sealed to the glass from the back.
