In ancient Greece, Keres were the female spirits of death and destruction. I used a palette knife to create a textured piece using shades of violet mixed with black and white over a wash of blue and violet. I selected violet and black because of the feminine identity of Keres and for the dark, deep color. Some yellow peeks through as the Keres blot out the sun.
