This artwork was created especially for the Mythology show.

Shruggy, my friend Barry's Greyhound, plays the part of Prosperpine in this photographic portrayal of classic mythology.

Shruggy was having a birthday party at the park and I made her a wreath with flowers from my garden and photographed her wearing it. I photographed individual flowers and used them throughout. I created the reflections in Photoshop along with all the stars and borders. All in all about 6 photos were used.

The following myth is represented by this work:

"In the Vale of Enna there is a lake embowered in woods, which screen it from the fervid rays of the sun, while the moist ground is covered with flowers, and Spring reigns perpetual. Here Prosperpine was playing with her companions, gathering lilies and violets, and filling her basket and her apron with them, when Pluto (Hades) saw her, loved her, and carried her off."
Here, Prosperpine (Shruggy) is being lifted above the vale and lake of Enna to Pluto's bower. You can't see Pluto, but you can certainly see Prosperpine, lifted!
