This piece has fabric and lace as the focal point. I wanted to create an otherworldly kind of portrait using various techniques. The moody landscapes of the old masters, (in this case one loosely based on a Titian painting) acts as a backdrop to the stark contrast of this stylized woman and her bold dress. The fabric has been sewn onto 140lb watercolor paper and distressed with ink and paint.
