This design is inspired by the burnt out summer landscape of southern Spain rather than the lush rain forest of Brunei which I normally like to depict. We lived for many years in Spain and this picture tells the story of the arid,parched landscape waiting for relief from autumn rains. This design is created using a variety of embellishment techniques including textured fabric and freehand machine embroidery using rayon and cotton threads.
