This is my mother-in-law's home as a child. The farmhouse is in Bridgehampton, LI, NY. It was originally a dairy farm and later a potato farm. The tree behind the house actually came down in the "big hurricane" of 1938. Each piece of this was individually cut, fused, and stitched down to the handpainted sky background and the piece was then quilted around the frame only so as not to distract from the house.
