Prospectus: Disney has done horrid things to the traditional art of the fairytale--given them happy endings where the bad guy gets his and our heroes live happily ever after. Once meant as cautionary tales, the modern take on fairy tales has been neutered and anesthetized.
"Fractured Fairytales" seeks to play with the idea of what the fairytale was, and what it has become. Whether your take is silly, gothic, or a play on the modern allegory, artists should present their version of real (or imagined) fairytales.
This show is open to all members of EBSQ+.
Submissions are welcome in any medium, and need not be auctioned on ebay to participate. Entries should include a jpeg of your work (or works), size, title, medium, ground, and a brief explanation about the piece which will be included as part of the online exhibit. |
