Amanda Hone's Original

Media:  Acrylic
Dimensions:  12" X 12"
Date of Work:  June 2005

I have been attracted to Amanda Hone's art for a long time. Her use of color is striking and her work is so vibrant. Therefore, it was a pleasure to partner with her for the EBSQ annual "Ripped Off" show.

I chose her "Alien Visitor Experimenting With Food Combinations" because it seemed a very playful painting and appealed to my "pop art" mentality. Amanda's title is an apt description of her piece, therefore, I followed suite and gave mine a narrative title as well.

Because violets and yellow greens do not translate well digitally for my camera, there is a slight color discrepancy between the photo and the original. The original leans a bit more toward the magenta. (If you click on the magnifying glass, however, the larger image seems more true to the original.)
