This is my rip off of Jes Ewers' "Puggy #3". I love pugs, Having owned one I am aware of the amazing amount of personality these little creatures posess. Jes' style of art is significantly different than mine and basically I took his painting and did it more my style. I did the pug at more of a quarter turn and in lighter shades and all around less realistic. I wanted to emphasize the eyes on the little pug as I have a certain fondness for "cockeyed" animals and pugs display this feature the best of any I have seen :D. I think Jes did a great job capturing that as well.

As for the background I tried to keep with in the range Jes used for the portrait and just mix it up a bit. SO I did more of a streaking effect in the background instead of the fading Jes had done. I had an immense amount of fun with this piece.
