This hanging and freely, dual rotating sculpture was created using several different types of copper and aluminum wire in copper, gold, black, red, brown, and silver.
Grapevine wire was painted in red and portrays the veins running through the forearm. Aluminum wire was used to create implied fingernails, and an array of wires where used in forming the complexities of the human anatomy.
The middle finger (also interpreted as a phallus symbol in this piece), freely pivots in a circular motion via transparent line, and is detached from the hand... thus, literally and figuratively.... GIVING YOU THE FINGER!.
Unavailable for sale. Artist's personal collection and currently out on loan until June.
