The hat is much like one I had at the time, late 70's, that a friend bought for me at a shop in Provincetown, MA. It was a beautiful thing, handcrafted in some kind of buckskin. It was eventually passed on to a boyfriend of another friend who fell in love with it. They did me a huge favor by storing some of my stuff during a move, including my parakeet, which unfortunately became a meal for their cat.
