I live by the coast and watch the fishing boats going out to sea every day. I've been exploring line and colour recently so wanted to capture the simplicity of that scene. The sea has a richness of colour from the darker, mysterious depths to the sunlight glinting off the surface waves that thrills me. Add to that the heaving swell and you can get a sense of the dangers and exhilaration of being a fisherman.
