Roo is a portrait of Sasha, one of Jenny Doss' dogs. Sasha is a lanky blond greyhound / whippet mix. Jenny described her as frisky, with 'big gangly legs that she tripped over, a pointy nose and sharp teeth.' The piece is made from a recycled kitchen cabinet door frame made of solid maple. I thought the long skinny profile of the frame was a perfect fit for Sasha the dog. Like Sasha, and the multitude of animals at shelters, the materials in this piece were diposable to someone and yet beautiful and of great value to someone else willing to invest the time to make them shiny.
