"It's Not Nice to Fool Mother Nature"...

As if a regular SuperModel isn't enough for you, here we have a genetically engineered 50 foot version. Yes, that's right - our national obsession with all things large has resulted in this; a "Supersized SuperModel"....

The tagline for the 1958 cheesy horror movie "Attack of the 50 foot Woman" reads: "See a female colossus... her mountainous torso, skyscraper limbs, giant desires!", and we all laughed.

Well, my 50 foot Supermodel "giantess" can beat that, and (trust me on this); she's got some giant desires of her own!

Yes, this lady is one tall drink of water. Hope you like her, but (and perhaps more importantly), I really hope SHE likes YOU!

This has been my "cautionary tale" about society's neverending pursuit of beauty/perfection and the dangerous repercussions it can have on us all.

This is a "mixed-media" piece that started as a picture in a magazine I was leafing through while in a salon waiting for a haircut... I came across one of those skinny, waif-like runway supermodels wearing a dress that was VERY much reminisent of the lady's dress in Victor McGhee's wonderful "She Was A Tall Girl" painting... and that's when it hit me -- what a great idea to do a rip-off of Victor's "She was a tall girl..."!

Luckily, the lady at the salon generously offered the magazine to me to keep, so, off I went. I cut out the photo, then placed it on some blank watercolor paper and photographed it, then I "digitally enhanced" the photo with MS Paint, and manipulated the photo to emulate Victor's painting as much as possible.

Again, this piece was created specifically for the EBSQ "2004 Ripped-Off" show, and was inspired by Victor McGhee's "She Was a Tall Girl" which I show here as well. Thanks for the inspiration, Victor!
