This piece is based on a few lines from "Madeline and the gypsies",

"...The best part of a journey-by plane, by car or train-is when the trip is over and you are.. home again."

And to me, that's what travelling is about-coming home again to the place where you are meant to be. This is something I felt keenly both while away at University in London, ON, and teaching ESL in Osaka, Japan. There's a time when you definitely feel the need to go home, wherever that may be to you.

The small vignettes are of the famous lighthouse at Peggy's Cove and of a pastorale scene in rural Cape Breton Island (both in NS, Canada). The small square in the bottom left is origami paper/wc paper collage with the title, date and my initials.
