This portrait is of artist MONICA FAITH.

This is a surreal depiction of the Magical powers that Monica Faith has attained in her life that through many changes from her hair color to life experiences, she is now recreated herself into a divine spirit in balance (Ying Yang concept) and harmony. Able of bringing to her world all that she wishes and desires.

She wrote me about her life and I was taken back to hear that she had the gift of having white hair at a young age. From listening to Monica's story it seems she wasn't happy to have gray hair at such a young age but I think that she soon realized that her white hair was a white canvas with infinite possibility of artistic expression. I thought again in the concept of Ying Yang (two sides 4 everything, no day without night, happiness without sadness.. etc)

In her case it seems that her life has imitated her art. To me her white hair represented Wisdom. It is clear that Monica posses talents that are divine in nature.

The essence of my painting is to capture Monica's strength as a role model for all woman. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to paint Monica Faith who is an incredible gifted artist and a very special person. I considered her to be a new and hopefully long lasting friend.
