Vamparia I created this piece for the October Bat show. Keeping with a Halloween bat theme, I wanted to make a bat that was cool to look at wile still beings fun, so I chose the Townsend’s Big eared Bat or (Corynorhinus townsendii). I have found the silhouette of this bat to be comical enough to create a light hearted fun piece of art from a creature that usually gives people the willies. Vamparia is made from 16 gauge Sterling Silver wire polished to a high shine. To spice it up and give it that truly Gothic Dracula feel I added a large 12mm X 10 mm Deep blood red Garnet. So Happy Halloween Everone. Townsend's Big-eared Bat occurs only in northwest Arkansas... A similar species called Rafinesque's Big-eared Bat (Corynorhinus rafinesquii) occurs in southern and eastern Arkansas.
