I will be honest, I have never heard of Bougainvillea before, much less seen one. I went on a mission to learn more and was surprised and how pretty they are with a name like Bougainvillea LOL! I've called it everything in the book but it's proper name Bogievilla, Bogervilera and so on - I don't think I will ever get it completely right. Usually if I mess up once - It's over.

I had to take a short break from painting and this is my first painting in a month. I wanted to do something loose instead of so tight and confined as my usual work. I used Golden Fluids, and the colors used were Magenta, Perm Green Light, Burnt Umber, Titanium White, and Primary Cyan.

This would fit perfect in a tiny spot that' needs a little attention without something too large and over bearing.

This piece will be in Pembroke, MA for the Pembroke Arts Festival the weekend of August 1st.
