When perusing Muriel Areno's portfolio for a piece to RIP for this show, I immediately noticed her stand out painting: 'Kris Jean's Girls' -- which ironically was HER entry in 2007's 'Ripped Off' show (in which she RIPPED Kris Jean). So in effect, my entry here is actually a RIP of a RIP (and I thought there was just something humorous about that)....

My entry is painted, bas relief-style sculpted papier mache -- all one piece, with an incorporated, built-in frame. It may be difficult to discern from the flat photo that it actually has a significant amount of texture (note that the sculpted figure actually projects out from the piece quite a lot)....
