Kazul is the King of our household. She is definitely a royal 'we'. A talking cat, she is quick to voice her opinions, questions and demands on almost any subject. Kazul echo-locates us in the house with repetitive calls in response to our voices. When a cuddle is called for or the food dish is empty or we lie in too late in the morning we receive a severe tongue lashing from this monarch. The name Kazul comes from 'The Enchanted Forest Chronicles' written by Patricia C. Wrede. The King of the dragons in those stories is Kazul, a female dragon. In this enchanted forest story, gender roles are stood on their ends and all manner of different possibilities are explored. Being the King of the Dragons there is not about gender, but the job description. Being the Queen is apparently 'quite boring'. On this particular day, Kazul was lounging on the table in the sun. When I took a first shot, she began posing for me like a model. She was quite coquetish. I currently use a Kodak Easyshare C875. This shot was cropped to this size and composition.
