This portrait was first capture in 1984 on Kodak Tri-X Pan film using a Canon A-1 camera fitted with a 135mm FD lens. The single source of lighting was positioned high and off to my left to cause the dramatic shadow to fall across my friend Kelly's face.

2008: I scanned the negative with a Canon 9950F film scanner to create a digital file of the image. Any scratches or dust specs where removed using Paint Shop Pro X. Shadows and sharpness where also adjusted in Paint Shop.
