I must admit, like most women, I LOVE shoes. My motto is "Life is short, just buy the damn shoes!"

So it was only a matter of time before I decided to paint one. I enjoyed this one so much it may be the beginning of a whole new series for me. But first I need to buy some more shoes! :-)

I began by painting the canvas black. The blue shoe looks very dramatic against a swirling orange, yellow and red background. The black under-painting seems to give the background a certain glow and depth.
