I made these dolls one day while sitting with my grandmother watching TV. She was busy embroidering as usual and I didn't have of my materials to paint. I knew she had different materials to make things in her creative office. So I went hunting in there and found what gave me the idea to make these dolls. I used Cotton material for the body. I created the pattern for the body out of my head. I sewed it by hand and before I did anything to the head I transferred my children's photo to the material. (Their face) I crotched a double stitch sort of hat for the top of the head and then made the wig out of that. I also ironed on a tattoo by the butt above the cheek. It has their name age and grade. I next got an outfit that they had both just grew out of and cut it to fit the doll, made some adjustments. I worked on them for a while each night until I was satisfied with the results. I let my children play with them so, my daughters doll no longer has her original clothes. I value them more now that they are older, so I will put them away for safe keeping.
