The tangle of grasses and leaves displays the glory of the miniature landscape.

When I saw that brilliant red sassafras leaf nestled in the long delicate grasses I knew I had to paint it. There is something about a tangle of grasses that captivates me. I suppose it is like unraveling a puzzle. I always try to present myself with a new challenge in every painting I do to help my skills grow. Fortunately for me, nature provides such challenges frequently.
