Flower Power: A Botanical Perspective on Life.
The gentle folds of this rose depict a mother's gift of love. There is a greater depth, however, signified by the shadows which suggests that there is more to this beautiful lady than first meets the eye.
The composition is intended; the use of positive and negative space is a well-used element of my photography.
Prints are available as a limited edition run of just 25. These are printed on Epson Super A3 Photographic Paper using Epson six colour printing technology.
Think Pink Show - additional information: My much loved maternal grandmother died as a result of cancer. Her name was Rose. I neglected to mention this because it personalises my entry to an extent I did not feel comfortable with. However, I have been asked to say why I selected this image as an entry for this wonderful show.
I dedicated this photograph to my mother who displays it above her bed. For me it was a exemplification of her wonderful unconditional love; to her it also serves as a reminder of that which her own mother had.
