I painted this little piece using my signature Corgi dog characters. I was married 24 years ago in an historic church in Sleepy Hollow, NY. Got married, had kids, got Corgi dogs. Since then I've been obsessed by them, I own them, show them, paint them, love them. Corgi fur is everywhere. Should you not know the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, here is a brief synopsis: A new school teacher named Ichabod Crane comes to the village of Sleepy Hollow in rural New York. In the village, there is a story of a legendary ghost, a headless horsemen who is said to be searching for his head that he lost during a Revolutionary War battle. Nearly as soon as Ichabod Crane arrives, he begins to pursue the beautiful young heiress Katrina Van Tassel. Many in the village dislike Crane but none more than Brom Bones, his rival who masquerades as the legendary spector to frighten Ichabod away. It is the classic tale of the conflict between brains and brawn. The "Legend" is still very much alive in Sleepy Hollow. On weekends in October at historic sites, the Headless Horseman still rides. I have seen him with my own eyes. -CS ^..^
