This is Bella Luna. She was captured by King Albatross of West Gemidaveda on the planet Zoleria Minor. It is on the outer edges of the universe (and they say the universe is infinite).

Bella Luna is a doll in the daytime, and at night she can guide your way through the darkest of dark. She offers guidance and good luck.

She is made from various found objects: an iron candlestick, a large wooden dowel, vintage jewelry & lace, material, & other bits and pieces.

On the top is a metal crown candle holder containing a tea light. Inside the butterfly cage is Bella Luna's face, printed and fixed onto a transparency - at the bottom is a rusted metal heart-shaped key hole - but no key so she can't get away. She wears a sterling silver heart-shaped locket which is filled with fairy dust and a hand-made dress and apron. The pocket contains a butterfly - it is stitched on all sides so the butterfly can't escape either. Underneath the skirt is a battery-operated tea light. I have painted the dowel and then sanded and antiqued it to give it an aged appearance. The skirt is made from an old dress and the apron is a vintage piece of lace. She stands about 21" high and measures about 6" wide.
