This painting was done to go into a child's room. I find, that vivid colors and a semi illustrational style is liked best by younger children. I used Acrylics for extra bright and vivid colors. Toucans are jungle birds - the foliage and jungle colors were exaggerated to capture the child"s interest and imagination. The background was meant to appear hazy to give the impression of moisture and humidity. The toucans themselves really are this colorful. For the toucans I used several photographs - the foliage came from my imagination.
