I wanted to make a colorful picture using the Lichen. I wanted it to be peaceful and not dark and depressing. That’s why I decided to put the lichen on something full of color.

The picture of the metal frame with the flower pots was taken on 6th street in Traverse City, Michigan. The owner of the house lets anyone go in her back yard anytime she has a sign up that says “The Garden is Open”. She has a beautiful garden.

The lichen was taken in my back yard I was surprised to find it. I didn’t even notice it before this show. It is growing all over our trees.

The first thing I did after finding the Lichen in our backyard was to lasso the lichen out of the picture and added it to the metal frame picture. I copied and resized the lichen until I saw what I liked and then recopied to the different parts of the frame. I blurred the image and merged the lichen to the metal frame picture. I also weathered the picture to give it a more worn appearance.
