I ripped off Whirlwind by Tyler J Smith.
I like the rough brush strokes, the ambiguous items and the unfinished look of Tyler's original work, where you can see plenty of white canvas at the edges. I wanted to use these elements to conjur up something definite, the way you see shapes in clouds sometimes.
So I conjured up a Whirlpool washing machine ! It is a front-loading machine like we have in Europe.
When you see my reflection in the glass of the door, the painting will "click" into place. I am topless because it was a hot day. You can also see my legs in red shorts, and bottles of washing liquid.
The detail shots show some of the "hidden" pictures, and Tyler's original Whirlwind.
