Dimensions:  6" x 4"
Date of Work:  2005

My husband, a stagehand and drummer, brought home this old stage screw for me to paint. Screws like this were used to anchor items onstage. They screw right into the stage floor, which is end-grain, so a conical screws leaves little damage when it's removed. If you look at old photos of the Beatles, you can often see a screw like this anchoring Ringo's bass drum. It's a quick painting done from life in acrylics. The back is painted gold in case you want to display it in an album. It's painted right to the edge, no white margins. Sold unmatted and unframed, with complimentary hard toploader for storage. The size is ac4x6, which means it's an Artist Collectible 4" x 6".
