Pirates like pretty things. They are suckers for pretty things. They like shiney metal gold and silver. And they LOVE pretty lace and really good hats. The pirate who owns this locket steals and saves pretty things. On the face of the locket, over his special map, he proudly displays the trophey he collected from a pretty woman - a bit of her lace petticoat. Inside the locket are his two loves - his ship and a fading picture of the one who waits for him. This locket was inspired by the bit of lace that Captain Jack Sparrow wears on his wrist in Pirates of the Caribbean. There is back story to everything in that movie and the bit of lace was no exception. I embellished the story a bit and made it my own in the form of a pendant. The images are from antique collections and the lace was found in a box of antique fabrics.
