This is a seascape painting, done in fine soft pastel, depicting a cloudy day on the pier at Daytona Beach, Florida. The colors are cool blues, turquoise, and violets, with the pier in shades of umber and sienna. The finished pastel has been preserved with a fixative to deter smearing or paint particles loosening, and protects the painting for years to come.
