A wonderful photograph from my most recent body of work entitled "American Relics." This image, to me, epitomizes Americana it its core. When I see it, I feel like I'm stepping back into the 1950's viewing a kid with greased hair as he fills up his Fairlane and his girl runs into the store for a vanilla soda.
Additionally, though, we can't help but see this old pump in its present state. Now, it stands in solitary amongst the cacti and other artifacts in a small abandoned town in Nevada - a tall and lasting relic of one of America's favorite decades.
