Art of the Day: 01/05/2004
This Week's Theme:   Winter Landscapes
Bare limbs in relief against the sky. A muffled world in a blanket of snow. Cold and lean, yet complete and beautiful. It must be a winter landscape.

Media:  acrylics on stretched, gallery wrapped canvas, varnished
Dimensions:  20" X 10" X 1 1/2" thick
Date of Work:  December 2003

It's FREEZING here. Beautiful, yes, but FREEZING !!! The snow and ice blizzards that make for a winter wonderland are impossible to see through when they are in-process. Thick, fluffy, heavy clumps of snow swirl up and down in the winds before finally landing. Snow covered ground with a silver base, a cool blue sky with a sun devoid of warmth - sunlight in yelows and orange flickers off of the nearby flakes. Tree skeletons are barely visible. Painting is textured, adding to the fluffiness of the snow. Private collection.
