Nearly every week for the past several years, EBSQ receives questions regarding issues surrouding art and copyright law. Questions include everything from "stolen" ideas to people concerned about mechanical reproducions of their work being produced and sold without their knowledge or permission. But a recent editorial by politcal cartoonist Daryl Cagle brought a copyright issue to light that was entirely new to me: "orphaned works." If you aren't aware of this pending bit of legistation here in the United States, I cannot more highly recommend you read Daryl's article NOW.
