September was a positively crazy month for pretty much everyone we know. Filled with birthdays, anniversaries, family obligations, hurricanes, tragedies, births, deaths. It's a wonder anything got done! And some things didn't get done, including all of the 'SQewy award nominations. Look for more categories on which to vote through the end of October. One thing that DID get done was our September Juried Member Screening. You'll find a list of this September's newest juried members. Also, be sure to check out this month's featured artists, Pete Snyder and Harlan, both newly juried. Congratulations!
To ease back into fall, we suggest follwing in the footsteps of this month's cover artist, Kate Johnson. Each year, at the beginning of the calendar, as well as on her birthday, she takes a walk and journals it artistically. In the Northern Hemisphere, the air is growing crisp, and fall is in the air. Take some time out, perhaps do a little early fall plein air, and remind yourself to breath. And while we're at it, Happy Birthday, Kate!
