I'd like to take the opportunity to highly recommend the press release by sourpeas.org as their story is one that is close to my heart. My sister-in-law is one of the defendants in this most-ridiculous case of 52 Davids vs a greedy-but-savvy Goliath. Also, I think this is an important case of which artists representing their own work should be aware. It's possible that some of you might even be part of this suit. If so, we'd certainly like to hear from you and hear your story. Copyright laws were put in place to protect creators' rights. To see these laws being perverted as a means to extort money from small-business owners, particularly when this suit is completely by-passing significantly larger (read: wealthier, thus better equipt to defend themselves) companies, is nothing short of sickening. Please spread the word.
