This month, we'd like to take the time to celebrate something wonderful--us! EBSQ, beyond being a wonderful resource for artists and patrons alike, is based on a long-standing community. Many true and deep friendships have formed over the years, moving from bonds based on art to all of the other things we find we have in common. Love for our families, a sense of wonder that drives us to be artists, an appreciation for beauty. Our featured artists this month, Maria Van Bruggen and Miriam Bos, are two such friends. Both work in the fantasy genre, both do work steeped in realism and traditional portraiture, and yet the results are so uniquely their own. It is a joy to see how their work plays off each other.
Also this month--in further celebreation of "us"--we're having our annual "company party" in the chat room. Please feel free to join us on 12 December at 9pm EST (6pm PST) or simply drop by the message boards some time to check in and say hello! Our new boards have something for everyone, and we're looking forward to seeing you there, since we couldn't have an "us" without a "YOU!"
