This week's theme: Without Rhyme or Reason
The art in this week's Art of the Day doesn't have a have a unifying theme. What you will find this week's line up is seven pieces of art chosen simply to be enjoyed.
This painting is part of a new direction in my work, one that pulls together aspects that I'm happy with in my previous work. Using strong colours and those not necessarily expected is something I feel excited by and adding elements of detail is satisfying my need to give a focus to every painting.
This painting is actually based on a photograph nestled elsewhere in my portfolio. It was taken on the Isle of Bute, on the west coast of Scotland, and showed a circling rainstorm.
