Sunflower Couple - Facing the Storm

When we see a flower, we focus on its bloom. We like flowers around us because of their beauty, their colour and fragrance. Flowers, however, do not stand on their own. Like so many things they are equipped with an infrastructure. The most visible part of that infrastructure is their stems. This week, EBSQ's Art of the Day showcases flowers and the stems that allow them to rise from the earth and into the air.
A brave sunflower couple brave this stormy Summer day in a field of yellow flowers. Painted with Acrylic paint collage pieces, this piece is full and thick with a colorful 3-D layer that even extends around the border, giving it a playful and unique frame!
