Art: Fuel Shack by Artist Robin Cruz McGee
This is the fuel shack at Shem Creek. Shem creek is the home of a small fishing fleet in Charleston harbor where shrimp and fishing boats work daily to bring in the catch. Shem Creek is also home to a number of restaurants and bars where people enjoy the view of the surrounding marsh and the picturesque sunsets in the evening. It is also the home of a great number of various sea birds that have learned to take advantage of the leavings when the fishermen clean their catch. Quite a sight to see.
