This week's theme: Pick a Number, Put Your Money Down and Spin the Wheel

If you look at this week's art the connection to the theme will not be obvious. There isn't anything that relates to gambling. The theme comes from the selection process. A gallery was selected as was a page number. A piece of art was then selected from that galley, off of that page and added to the art for this week's Art of the Day. It's a refreshing way to select the art for the week. There are no theme constraints. There is no way to know what you're going to find. We spun the wheel and our gamble paid off.

Art: As the Crow Flies Mixed Media Picture Book by Artist Emily J White

"As the Crow Flies" mixed media book A rather strange quote has inspired me to make this crow book... It is a mixed media picture book, with four "story" pages and two covers. The quote is spread over the four pages: "Crows fly by my window, slow, headed that way, looking at me, though." The book is coptic bound with black and blue ribbon, allowing it to open easily to any page, stand on its own, and looks nice, too. Book measures approximately 5.5" x 4.5" x .5". Materials include acrylic paints, inks, assorted papers, mat board, ribbon, and matte sealant. The original book is available in my darklingemily etsy shop.
