This week's theme: Halloween
Halloween is rapidly approaching. In the United States it's big - very big. The money spent on decorations is second only to Christmas. When it comes to parties it's up there with New Year's Eve and Superbowl Sunday. And we aren't talking just parties for kids. Adults make up a massive and growing chunk of the people who celebrate Halloween. So if you love Halloween, too, this week's Art of the Day is for you. As most of the artists have these and other pieces available for purchase, if you see something you like don't hesitate to contact the artist and let them know. They'll be glad to hear from you. I had Jeremy scan the finished "Temperance" piece for the Morbidly Adorable Tarot:) I really loved doing this piece. I was able to incorporate my love of bugs, siamese twins, and jackalopes -- not your usual combination! It's funny, but I was 17 years old before someone informed me that jackalopes don't exist! I honest to goodness thought they were real. I still do:)

When you are joined at the hip like the Twilight Sisters, you learn to negotiate and cooperate in new ways. Balance and harmony are very important to the sisters! The characters roaming the budoir demonstrate their own powers of diplomacy -- a siamese skelly cat and siamese skelly dog share a space with a plate balancing beetle, a meditating grasshopper, and the elusive jackalope! It may look like a circus, but this chaos conjures creativity and works quite well for them!
