Art of the Day: Sunday May 24, 2015

Cherry Tree

- by Carmen Medlin

This week's theme: Fruit

When doing a week of fruit for Art of the Day, it get's difficult. There are so many different kinds of fruit and fruit is a popular subject for artists that it sounds odd to say that it's a difficult theme to work with. The problem is that there are so many different kinds of fruit and fruit is a popular subject for artists, but there are only seven days in a week. We here at EBSQ did eventually manage to narrow it down and we hope you enjoy this week's selection of art.

Art: Cherry Tree by Artist Carmen Medlin
My mom has a cherry tree in her front yard that grows the tiniest cherries on it…and here they are. I loved how the colors interacted with each other and just had to paint it!
This was created first in watercolor layers, and then with layers of colored pencil over that.
