I created this piece for the "Tangible" Art Show. It is based on my obsession with crime shows lately. I especially like the ones where you get a peek inside the crime lab and autopsy. Some of the visuals are really disturbing. I don't know why I keep watching them. I think I have been brainwashed by my TV.
I decided to use textures in this piece that were comforting and created a desire to touch the materials: a velvet plush body, an old worn sweater, and ripe strawberries. The idea here was to create a tension between the disturbing graphic image of the sculpture, and the materials used to create it.
