Vincent Van Gogh's famous painting of "Crows In The Wheatfield" is dark, and depicts the place where he shot himself. It speaks of his suicidal state of mind.

I often see crows in the wheatfields where I live. However, I see them as signs of life, rather than symbols of death. This inspired me to paint how I see the crows, in contrast to Vincent's work.

My painting of the crows speaks of light and life. Where Vincent had storm clouds on the horizon, I have trees, to bring more life to the composition; where his crows seem to head into the next world, mine bounce around, full of life; where his clear sky is dark and menacing, mine is bright and hopefull.

I hope this work shows how a different treatment of the same subject expresses almost opposite feelings.
