Ned 26
The metal man from down under. Back in the early 1900's clad in steel, Ned struck fear in the hearts of the local constabulary.
This is my first oil on canvas painting, as I have always painted using acrylics. Drying time is so much slower however the flexibility with using oils is such a bonus. A wash of Lineseed oil and paint was used on the background and later (next day) this was dabbed with rough tissue paper to achieve a mottled effect. Similar technique was used in achieving the metal finish. I have also used Pearl Ex pigment to provide a sheen in the metal highlights.
