Here in the almost tropical climate of South West Florida - Coconut Palms are growing in abundance.
Large Fronds are shed and litter the ground year round.
I collect the nicest specimen and let them dry thoroughly.
Sometimes I drill and cut out eye holes, sometimes I paint the eyes on.
The paint I use is acrylic with a good outdoor type lacquer applied after the paint is dry.
With a wire hanger screwed into the back, these masks can be hung either indoor or out.
Each piece is uniquely different, and I enjoy using nature's castoffs as my canvas.
