This elf is looking dreamingly while snow starts to fall. She seems to be lost in thoughts

This is actually a self portrait, done as a gift for my parents for their 27th anniversary. I always find it very hard to make self portraits. But I think that this is the first piece that actually really looks like me...or like the photo that I used, haha.

I love snow. That's why I created these (normally microscopic) snowflakes ... Their shapes are so beautiful and delicate that I just needed to paint them. I am often in awe when I see what beauty nature can create. It is just incredible...
